About the show

A post-apocalyptic adventure for the 21st century, positing various societies who survive a global collapse due to a lack of oil. Original pilot aired on WKIT (Stephen King‘s Rock & Roll Station) in Bangor, Maine in 2010

Plot

15 years have passed since a traumatic undoing of society called “The Breaking.” We follow two interlocking stories – one, of THE REFUGE, where Maria and Luke, sister and adopted brother, grow up in a hardscrabble life of subsistence farming and homemade solar and wind powered tools. Their life is interrupted when John Prophet, a ghost from their parents’ past, comes riding in one fine afternoon.

Prophet comes because far away, in THE REPUBLIC, a new force is rising – a force from across the ocean bearing military might and an iron fist. This new regime promises to subjugate what scraps of freedom are left in this fallen land. And in their wake, a more ominous shadow grows…

Versions

The Cleansed is available in both premium paid editions and free podcasts. The paid version has pristine audio quality and has full 30 minute shows without ads. Availible as CD-boxed set and digital boxed sets.

The free version apparently has the same quality audio (not sure if that’s entirely true). Main difference is you only get 5-7 minutes at a time, and your always behind what paid listeners get.. Also you have ads. Personally for me the 5-7 parts are to short to listen to it in a relaxed way (when i go to sleep :D)

Season 1

Their life is interrupted when John Prophet, a ghost from their parents’ past, comes riding in one fine afternoon.

Prophet comes because far away, in THE REPUBLIC, a new force is rising – a force from across the ocean bearing military might and an iron fist. This new regime promises to subjugate what scraps of freedom are left in this fallen land. And in their wake, a more ominous shadow grows…

Season 2

Season 2 begins with the characters headed downriver. There are trials both within the party and with the outside world – not the least of which is an incredibly violent series of rapids the characters must endure. And in true FinalRune style, they put the actors into canoes and had them shouting their lines and paddling like mad to create convincing scenes.

Will be released in March 2013.
